I bought this TV and less than 8 months later the picture went out. Sears is unable to do anything and I can not get ahold of Seiki.
Bought the 38 1/2 Seiki, horrible TV bought less than 2 years ago. Within 3 months color went out, Sears told me I had to contact the manufacture. That was fun after giving me several numbers to call I was on hold for more than 20+ minutes, only to find out I was responsible for shipping. They don't do ************* for TV's under 40in's. What Einstein decided to put the speakers behind the TV, yes you read that correctly, behind the TV facing the wall. So the sound on the TV is always up high. Changing the TV channels manually (remote doesn't always work, I'll leave it at that) I would literally hit the up or down button 3-4 times to get to the next channel. Hate is a strong word, but I hate this TV. Maybe I got 2 lemons in a row.
I was at first seeing as tho I had never heard of a Seiki or any of their products.I purchased a samsumg plasma 43 inch first and the screen was defective(horizontal lines running down the screen) so I decided to take a chance on the 40 inch Seiki(this is the model I have se40fy19).I've had been extensively reading reviews on Seki TV's before I went and returned my plasma and saw mixed reviews so I decided hey you know what?A 40 inch led hdtv with 1080p resolution for 200 bucks? Why not.So I brought it home assembled the stand and she was ready to go.Man was I pleaseantly suprised, the picture, sound quality, and resolution matched or rivaled the 43 inch plasma tv I had purchased previously(though you know with plasma you get a deeper black level). Not only that but I dont have to worry about burn-in from games either. Im a Huge Gamer and games play flawlessly with no lag whatsoever(make sure you have the proper hdmi cord hooked up). This model runs at 60hz so everything from cable to gaming runs really really good. All in all for the price you pay I highly recommend this T.V. to anyone and everyone from the casual tv watchers, to the hardcore gamers who dont want to worry about breaking-in a plasma and screen burn-in, this TV's definitely worth buying.
For the price, you simply cannot do better than the Seiki's. I have a 32, 40 and 47" TV. They all have very good pictures, plenty of inputs the same mounting system. The Sound is the only negative about this TV - it is not the best sound in the world. So this is especially good if you will be using this TV with another sound system.
Bought it on a whim for my dad for father's day. He uses it as an outdoor TV and LOVES it. He said picture is great and the sound is good to - which is unusual for TVs these days. All in all great buy.
Family surprised me with this tv for christmas. Qam tuner built in which is a must for my cable without a set top box! Picture quality is the best I have out of my flat screens, sound is much better than I expected, you will not need soundbar! I own another seiki 39 which I purchased this past spring with no problems and I am constantly talking about how happy I am with it that is why my Bride and kids got me another one. Great purchase they stole it for the price they got!!!
TV had a pretty good HD picture but I could not adjust the tint and color controls to my liking (tint is not available with HDMI input!). This is a bargain brand TV so I should not have expected it to match the quality of the major brands. I returned this and bought a Panasonic plasma (720p) for only $100 more and am very happy. Fortunately, Sears has an exceptionally good return policy.
i first i was skeptical because i have never heard about this product brand before i bought this unit. i am very happy with the clarity and brightness of the picture. i had a 32"(other brand) in my bedroom and change it out with this one.
I picked up this tv for what I would consider a steal. I got this for the member price of $299.00 the picture and sound quality is great and makes a great addition to my family room.
