Beautiful, but doesn't actually work. Unrepairable. Don't buy!
First off, I love the functionality of this refrigerator. It's the best design ever. I've now had mine for 14 months. Just after the warranty had expired, (about 2 weeks), I started noticing water dripping from the ice maker outer housing. When I tried to take the ice bucket out it was stuck. After a lot of pulling and yanking I freed the ice bucket to find the entire interior of the ice maker housing frozen over solid. Upon having it looked at, the water valve is stuck in the open position (I guess very small since it's not leaking all over the floor) and needs to be replaced. That in itself is not the end of the world. The problem is, this model is less than 2 years old and the valve that needs to be replaced has been discontinued. Luckily they found one in a nearby state. So I'll be without an ice maker for 2 days then I guess if that one fails, the refrigerator is worthless? I'm not happy with Samsung at all now and will never buy another of their appliances.
The products might be pretty however they are garbage. Over 2k on a fridge, numerous repairs in 1 year habing to take time off work for service calls, Loss of groceries due to it going onto demo mode they being Samsung you would think they stand by the products they produce, My 28 year old Kenmore still works and my 15 year old Kenmore still works stay away from companies that will not stand behind the products they make.
I bought this frig about 9 months ago. Love everything about it except the blasted ice maker. The production is only so-so. The actual dispensing of the ice is annoying as it shoots it everywhere. I have to use a very large cup (4" diameter opening) and THEN dump the ice from IT into whichever cup I want the ice in; if I don't do it this way, I inevitably have to pick up ice particles/cubes afterwards. If you put it on CRUSHED ice, the ice isn't really crushed as it's more like shredded ice -- some larger chunks, some teeny bits. If you put it on CUBES, it's anything but CUBES! What comes out are these misshapen teeny wads. Maybe this is normal ice in Koren (isn't Samsung a Korean brand?) but it isn't normal ice in the deep South, where I'm from. The water dispenser is good. As great as the other features are, I wouldn't buy it again due to the ice maker issue. I was using my sister-in-law's 12 year old GE in-the-door ice maker and it worked like a dream and I thought to myself, "I just paid like $3000ish for a frig that shoots ice fragments at me." Disappointing. A note to Samsung: Is that the best you can do on ice maker design? How did you design something SO awesome and then ALLOW this crappy ice maker to ruin it!?!!
I love the bottom freezer, but never liked the heavy drawer and having to lean down (with my bad back) to pick up a turkey! This design is perfect for me and I like having the option of making the bottom right compartment freezer, or fridge, or chiller. Fridge has a ton of room, and there are a few sizes so you can get what works for you. I do agree that the ice maker is slow, and sometimes it comes out as crushed when it's set on cubes. Overall, very happy with it.
still new and we love it so far. I find you cannot review an appliance until you have had it for a while. But the samsung is beautiful, efficient, spacious and overall a good product
Just short of a year our Samsung RF32FMQDBSR stopped maintaining the refrigerator temperature. Luckily both the freezer and convertible zone were still working and were able to save most of our food. Working with the Samsung customer service took multiple calls to trouble shoot over the phone, authorize and schedule the service visit, and confirm the honoring of the Samsung warranty. When the service techs did their diagnostics, they determined it could not be repaired in home and would need to be returned. After talking with Samsung they said they would not repair the unit and would compensate us for our purchase price and tax, but not delivery and haul away. The features and usability of the refrigerator is great, but the reliability is horrible. Maybe we just got a lemon, but you should do your due diligence before buying.
Love this refrigerator, so much space, the convertible zone is amazing. Ice maker is much improved from our last samsung 2 years ago. The water flow is fast and amazing. Not a single bad thing about it. Oh, and is literally become a conversation piece. Everyone that has seen it comments about how cool it looks and how much space there's inside.
Got this at sears and I am very satisfied with the buy....this is a huge fridge! And remember this one is taller than all other refrigerators and hence you need additional clearance in height. It can hold a lot of fresh produce!! And bcos it has a coating no finger prints on the door! I have received a lot of compliments on this. And I love the fact that you can see everything stored inside without any difficulty. Because the lighting is so bright. Overall I am a happy customer!!
Love the optional fridge/freezer but at this price the ice/water markings should not have worn off in 3 months and the ice maker is broken and leaking after 8 months. Pretty disappointed in the quality.
