Bought for son's condo. It is perfect for their space. Love it. Lots of space.
The Kenmore Elite is a great refrigerator! We did lots and lots of research online and visited many stores before making this purchase. Our previous refrigerator was a standard model with top freezer, but I absolutely love this french door/ bottom freezer style. Having the refrigerated food at eye level is a welcome change. Ample space on the door shelves, makes all my condiments more accessible. Once I figured out how to organize the bottom freezer, it's actually easier to find what I need in the freezer. We are content to make ice cubes manually, so I can't comment on the ice making feature. With french doors, I can easily get something by opening just one door. I love the wide and spacious deli drawer, which hold so much more than in my previous refrigerator. There is ample space in the produce drawers to hold the bounty from our vegetable garden. This appliance has more refrigerator and freezer capacity, but is just slightly taller and deeper than our old 21cu. ft. fridge. It fits well in our kitchen and is very attractive. We learned from the salesman, that this Kenmore is actually made by LG, which pleased us because we are very satisfied with our LG washer and dryer. The final pluses are the LED lighting and the quiet operation. I can barely hear the refrigerator running. All in all, this was a good purchase. We are happy with our new refrigerator.
It was just delivered yesterday, but seems roomy and will fill our needs very well.
So much room! We knew this fridge was larger but it surpassed our expectations. Runs quiet, hardly know it's on. Love that the glass shelves pull out to reach items in the back. Milk in the door stays as cold as on the shelf. The bottom freezer is convenient and large. And it pings if you leave the door open longer than a minute so you know if one of the kids is standing there trying to decide what to get. Overall a great choice.
We bought this refrigerator for our new home in 2007. We always knew we wanted a refrigerator that had French doors, bottom freezer and that was stainless steel. It was beautiful. However within the first 6 months, we came home from work to find everything in the freezer thawed and melted. The inside of the fridge was warm as well. We had it serviced and it ended up being the compressor. Five years later the same thing happened and once again lost all our groceries. This time it was the copper pipe on the back that was corroded because it was designed to sit down inside of fridge continuously exposed to water. and according to the Sears technician it is the way these types of refrigerators are now designed. Meaning it's bound to happen again in the future. So here we are in May 2014 within the year from the last service and once again our fridge has gone out losing our groceries once again. So disappointed with how much we invested into this refrigerator and the poor outcome. I do not suggest this refrigerator. Too expensive for poor performance.
Really getting used to new refrigerator layout. I think I have things in their p[lace now. Like most things...some I am getting used to, but, there is one thing I would change! That one thing would be is the full width bottom drawer, which means to access it you HAVE to open both doors. WHY, did you not make it split like all the others?
I ordered the stainless but received the black refrigerator. I love this one so much. It compliments the stove and microwave I also bought at an earlier time. The kenmore elite is such an awesome refrigerator. It has a chime that let's you know the doors and drawer are open to long or aren't closed properly.
We got such a good deal on our refrigerator. The price was great, the Salesman (Gary) was very knowledgeable and made sure that we were completely satisfied. I highly recommend the Bangor Sears.
Nice inside lots of depth. However, I am not trilled with the quality of some of the material used. The plastic parts are nnot if very good quality. It looks and feel cheap. Including the plastic used for the freezer top tray. Ice developed on the front of the tray.
