The two doors on the refrigerator allows you to open the unit partially without opening the entire refrigerator to the warmer room temperature. The two freezer drawers allows you to sort your freezer goods with the top drawer for short time utilization and the bottom drawer for longer term storage. The ice maker is the only thing that has given us trouble.
The layout is great, is quiet, and overall works well. But we have to leave the ice maker off because since we first installed it water has dripped down through the icemaker door on the outside of the main door which leaves a white residue. Seems like it would be a minor issue, but trust me, it's rather major when the whole water/ice area is a crusty white color which is very noticeable with the black background.
Freezer drawer would build up ice all around. Was told to pull drawer all the way out and then shut it. Said it needed to be realigned. Worked for about 2weeks till I saw more ice build up. I'd chip it off every few days. Did this for about a year and a half. (Ya, I'm not good at just calling and having it taken care, and do have coverage) finally called and had repair guy come. He said he needed to replace all kinds of parts. Doors, panels, gasket etc. parts on order for 2 months and sears called me to say it could be more time and unsure how long. Sears will let me get a new fridge to replace. So not sure what I'll be getting.
I bought this refrigerator in March 2014. While I love the looks and layout of the refrigerator, I find it runs extremely noisy. Even when opening the doors or drawers for just a second, it will go through a series of different annoying noises. The noises will kick in every few minutes even if the refrigerator stays closed and can be heard throughout my entire first floor. Definitely not something I bargained for. My old 20-year Kenmore was way quieter than this. I don't what to do about it. The Service Dept. was of no help. I hate this refrigerator because of the noise it makes and am about ready at time to kick it. For that much money I should be able to expect better.
Love the refrigerator, fits tons of food, freezer is easy to keep organized. Ice Cube bin is on the door and doesn't take up room in the refrigerator. Best of all was the speedy delivery, set-up and removal of the old refrigerator.
The Kenmore Elite 31.0 cu. ft. Dual Freezer French Door Bottom freezer is extremely well made and energy efficient. I enjoy the many features and the storage space is amazing for the size. They did a great job designing this outstanding refrigerator.
I simply LOVE my refrigerator! It provides me with the space I need and lots of options for storing food and beverages!
Very nice fridge, however..... I only paid $1799. at Sears 4 months ago. If you buy this fridge you will like it alot. I do!
There is a lot of room in this refrigerator and I love the dual-freezer. I previously owned a side by side and things would get lost in the freezer. With the two drawers I can organize the items such as in the bottom drawer meat on one side and veggies on the other and the top drawer extra ice, fruit and ice-cream.
It was too big for our space. I loved the double drawer at the bottom and the look and finish of the refrigerator, but it had to be returned. The depth of it is one of the largest and it stuck out about 6 inches from out counters so it looked unsightly. Otherwise, great refrigerator and when we purchased it, it was on sale 35% off.
We could not be happier!! Absolutely love the two drawers. Adjustable shelves are great. Huge capacity thanks to smart design. Crisper keeps things at their best much longer. Fantastic how easy to move for regular cleaning -really great rollers so feels like it doesn't weigh anything. Just can't say enough good things.
