I really like the washer I thought it was great, but just over a year something happened. On day in the middle of a cycle it stoped, I couldnt get it to finish a cycle, drain, or spin out. I called Samsung and they sent a repair guy out and they said it was not draining due to the placement of the pump, it had burnt out. So a couple of days later the guy was back to replace and move the pump, he said it was all ready to go. Now mind you, this is the first new washer I have ever owned. Im a craigslist hunter lol. Well later that night I went to do a load of laundry and quite some time later I went to check on it and low and behold its stuck again only this time its full of water. Same thing it wont drain again!! At this point I wish I could just get my money back and get a different washer. Samsung, stick with tvs, I dont think washers are your thing.
If I could give zero stars I would. Less than 9 months after buying this machine it broke and gushed water all over my hardwood floors. The water pump and harness literally exploded with water pouring out of the bottom of the machine. The part is made entirely of plastic. I did a lot of research before purchasing this machine, including Consumer Reports, and all the reviews were 4-5 stars. Apparently the reviews were before this part fails. Some of the more recent reviews now say they had the machine fixed and the same thing happened again! It appears that the problem is not limited to this particular model either. For the first week and a half Samsung called every day. Once I told Samsung I did not want mine fixed and wanted a new one, they stopped calling.
Im not sure why everyone is complaining about this washer, Ive had it for 6 months now with no issues. It gets my clothes way cleaner than my prior Kenmore, its even washed crude oil out of clothes quite well. You must use H.E. Detergent as thats what its designed for. The clothes also come out pretty dry, the spin cycle works great. This cuts down on your dryer power consumption. Another plus is you can wash HUGE loads, I only do laundry every 2 or 3 weeks now. So nice not constantly doing laundry in a small front load.
We purchased this washer in April of 2012. First off, I kept complaining to my wife that our clothes were not clean. We have always used Tide and Downey in the washer and Bounce in the dryer and we never had issues. After getting this washer, our clothes have never looked the way they used to. Then in December 2013, our laundry room was flooded. I lifted up the washer and looked under it and found that the water pump, which is made of cheap plastic, broke and the hose that was connected to it, which was not connected with a regular clamp, they used a pressure clamp to hold it together, and that broke! So I went to the store and got a regular clamp that you use a screw driver to tighten, and that worked. For the broken part of the pump, I used a 10" wire zip to re-fasten it to the housing. Needless to say we have ordered a new set of washer and dryers. Oh and by the way, stay away from the matching dryer!!! Ours now sounds like an airplane taking off when we start it up. Isn't it funny that they both go out within a week of each other? I will never buy Samsung again...
This washer has to be the WORST purchase I have ever made. Bought it about 1 year ago and has needed service twice. The first time my laundry room and basement were flooded because the housing for the pump is made of cheap plastic. Service co. had to come out twice before they could get it fixed (had to order parts that were on back order). It took a month of going to the laundromat.(Thats a real blast when you have work and children) Now the machine wont drain. Again have to order parts (pump this time)and wait another 3 weeks. All this for a machine that doesnt use enough water to actually wash your clothes. PLEASE do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER (if you do make sure you pay for the extended warranty cuz you're gonna need it!!) Samsung has made an "exception" to repair the 2nd time. Please do not buy this product!!!

This is what you get when you try to design a machine that washes without water. Never got the clothes clean the entire 9 months we owned it before it broke. Just stopped working and got the "PE" error code. Called Samsung who first referred us to an "out of warranty" repair facility. Checked the reviews of those guys and found that they were commonly reviewed as crooks. Called Samsung back to ask why we were referred to an "out of warranty" service when our machine was thankfully still under warranty. That ate up almost a week. Then they sent us to another service company who took a week to make it out. Couldn't fix it on the first visit. Service tech had never seen a "PE" error code. Had to order parts. Came out again with the parts a week later. Didn't fix it. Had to order more parts. One of the parts was on back order with no estimated fulfillment date. But a Samsung is not a lemon until the third unsuccessful repair attempt. Oh, and there's a week between each service visit all the while we have to trek to a laundromat. After three unsuccessful service attempts Samsung wanted to know if we wanted a replacement. No, we'd like our money back, please. That has to be submitted to some sort of committee, which takes about a week. Then we finally got them to agree to refund our money, but we have to dispose of their piece of junk machine on our own dime. Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy something else.
i think its a great washer knock wood no problems you have to use H.E detergents like tide era or wisk otherwise your clothes wont come out clean
Total garbage! Within 6 months the pump stopped emptying the washer. Then about two months later the drain hose disconnected and flooded my laundry room. I Reconnected the hose and a week later the pump completely broke off and was laying on the floor. Samsung support is horrible. For each support call I have been without my washer for at least 2 weeks (because it takes them so long to get someone to look at it then, it takes another week to order the parts). Will never buy another Samsung appliance again. Beware!
The machine couldn't handle a queen comforter...it ripped it up. It is also very loud and goes off balance often....would NOT recommend!
