This unit is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever seen. While it had a great capacity size, the unit is unbelievably loud and now 6 months after purchasing a new unit from Sears in May 2014, it is un-usable due to violent shaking and banging during the rinse cycle. Called Samsung lack-of-Customer Service and opened a ticket to which they were going to call me back in 48 hours..4 calls from me to them (none from them to me) and one week later, I was finally transferred to their 3rd party support. They were nice enough (NOT) to give me an appointment 9 days out. They just came out and tried to fix the unit..thought they had it fixed, but no luck. Now they left and are ordering some "rods" for the tub that "should" help. WHAT? Also said, Samsung is the worst about exchanging the unit out. This will be the LAST Samsung appliance I purchase! They should stick to phones!
Im not sure why everyone is complaining about this washer, Ive had it for 6 months now with no issues. It gets my clothes way cleaner than my prior Kenmore, its even washed crude oil out of clothes quite well. You must use H.E. Detergent as thats what its designed for. The clothes also come out pretty dry, the spin cycle works great. This cuts down on your dryer power consumption. Another plus is you can wash HUGE loads, I only do laundry every 2 or 3 weeks now. So nice not constantly doing laundry in a small front load.
We purchased this washer in April of 2012. First off, I kept complaining to my wife that our clothes were not clean. We have always used Tide and Downey in the washer and Bounce in the dryer and we never had issues. After getting this washer, our clothes have never looked the way they used to. Then in December 2013, our laundry room was flooded. I lifted up the washer and looked under it and found that the water pump, which is made of cheap plastic, broke and the hose that was connected to it, which was not connected with a regular clamp, they used a pressure clamp to hold it together, and that broke! So I went to the store and got a regular clamp that you use a screw driver to tighten, and that worked. For the broken part of the pump, I used a 10" wire zip to re-fasten it to the housing. Needless to say we have ordered a new set of washer and dryers. Oh and by the way, stay away from the matching dryer!!! Ours now sounds like an airplane taking off when we start it up. Isn't it funny that they both go out within a week of each other? I will never buy Samsung again...
This is what you get when you try to design a machine that washes without water. Never got the clothes clean the entire 9 months we owned it before it broke. Just stopped working and got the "PE" error code. Called Samsung who first referred us to an "out of warranty" repair facility. Checked the reviews of those guys and found that they were commonly reviewed as crooks. Called Samsung back to ask why we were referred to an "out of warranty" service when our machine was thankfully still under warranty. That ate up almost a week. Then they sent us to another service company who took a week to make it out. Couldn't fix it on the first visit. Service tech had never seen a "PE" error code. Had to order parts. Came out again with the parts a week later. Didn't fix it. Had to order more parts. One of the parts was on back order with no estimated fulfillment date. But a Samsung is not a lemon until the third unsuccessful repair attempt. Oh, and there's a week between each service visit all the while we have to trek to a laundromat. After three unsuccessful service attempts Samsung wanted to know if we wanted a replacement. No, we'd like our money back, please. That has to be submitted to some sort of committee, which takes about a week. Then we finally got them to agree to refund our money, but we have to dispose of their piece of junk machine on our own dime. Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy something else.
i think its a great washer knock wood no problems you have to use H.E detergents like tide era or wisk otherwise your clothes wont come out clean
Total garbage! Within 6 months the pump stopped emptying the washer. Then about two months later the drain hose disconnected and flooded my laundry room. I Reconnected the hose and a week later the pump completely broke off and was laying on the floor. Samsung support is horrible. For each support call I have been without my washer for at least 2 weeks (because it takes them so long to get someone to look at it then, it takes another week to order the parts). Will never buy another Samsung appliance again. Beware!
The machine couldn't handle a queen comforter...it ripped it up. It is also very loud and goes off balance often....would NOT recommend!
Only had for just a few months. Twice it has flooded my condo, extremely poor service from Samsung!!!!! Both times I had to wait 2 weeks on a water pump plus another week to have them fit me in their schedule.
We bought this washer from a store other than Sears. Loved the washer but we had a serious leak. Long story short...it leaks when clothes are in the machine and the Aqua Jet feature is being used. It leaks when the drum is spinning and the Aqua Jet is pumping in its torrent of water. NOT ALL of these washers will leak BUT the top blue ring and gasket were not installed properly on SOME washers apparently. The appliance techs can call the Samsung tech help line and order the new parts or try to re-fit the extisting pieces. Our parts are on order as of today. For now we are not using Aqua Jet. Love the machine, so glad there is supposedly an answer and a FIX!
I had to replace my first Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. tub top loader as it leaked, see my review. But my replacement Samsung washer is working fine and is gorgeous in gray stainless steel color. Matches my other appliances. The see thru window lets you watch the clothes being washed and how much water is being used. Sometimes it makes a groaning sound when its draining. Oh well. This dresses up my laundry room, has beautiful chimes when finished and get my clothes clean. I'm happy with it. High styled.
