I did a lot of research prior to purchasing a dishwasher. This one fits the bill--affordable, trusted brand, racks that won't rust, not too loud, etc. I also purchased the warrantee--it comes with annual "check-ups" on the appliance to service it and make sure that it is running well. The price listed on this on-line at sears.com was different than at my local Sears, but they happily matched it for me. Delivery was exactly when they said it would be and was completed in a quick, courteous manner.
I was able to install this myself, three easy connections. So far, this dishwasher is living up to expectations. It's quiet and does a nice job cleaning. We had hoped to be able to wash baby bottles but there still seems to be residue inside the bottles. Perhaps using the Sani-Rinse would help with that, but then we don't want to do that every time (waste of energy). Even with the rinse aid, I've noticed that things are a bit wet still with the High Temp dry selected. This is what we were looking for in a replacement dishwasher, nothing too expensive to break the bank, but works well enough for us. The controls are nice and not cheap feeling, it's well built.
I really liked the price and the look, but the dishwasher is noisy. Not sure how people can rate it as quiet, if you ever had a stainless tub dishwasher you will not call this dishwasher quiet by any means! It gets the job done just as much more expensive dishwashers do, the silverware rack is kind of awkward, but convenient and frees up more space for dishes. Love the overnight soak and top rack wash options. Definitely a good buy.
I thought I got a good deal on this dishwasher but I realized I got what I paid for. I did read the negative reviews but I figured those things won't happen to me. Well, they did. Firstly, this dishwasher does not dry. I put up with that. However, after 6 months it just stopped working. I'm fairly sure the pump is gone. I think I'll just chalk down as a lost $300 and buy a GOOD dishwasher. Stay away from this!
My wife and I bought this because we just bought a new home, and the existing dish washer didn't work. We are trying to stay on a budget, so this, basically, was the most affordable stainless dishwasher we could find. It's not rated as one of the quietest dishwashers you can buy, but we really haven't noticed the noise being an issue. That may be different for some others. We haven't run it a whole lot, but at this point we're partially pleased with the cleaning quality. We've had some issues with dirtier dishes and some utensils not getting completely clean. For the cost though, it's not a bad pick.
Good unit- don't like that you have to place forks, knives etc in the door rather than inside
I bought this dishwasher to replace a decades old machine that stopped working. Had it delivered and had some friends over to help with the install. First off, everything is inside the machine for shipping, and it is not readily apparent how to open it. I pulled on it but it did not open; eventually I removed what appeared to be a small clip on the top that was inserted into the door. Luckily I didn't throw it away, because that is in fact the latch. There is no lever like my old one to lock the door, you just close it and latches automatically. There should definitely be some kind of sticker on that to guide you. We had no other major surprises during the install. Note that this does not come with everything you need. I would suggest getting the install kit, but you may also need various small items like hose clamps (depending on your drain situation) and components for hooking up the electric. All that said, once installed, this dishwasher works very well. The adjustable top rack is a nice feature, but even better is the top rack only wash feature. The other good feature is having the silverware holder on the door instead of the bottom, this adds a significant amount of space for larger items on the bottom rack. My only other quibble is that the directions seem to be for all Whirlpool dishwashers. They are not specific to the model. This seems like a generally bad idea to me.
This unit is super quiet, in fact you can't even really tell that it is on. It cleans the dirtiest of dishes and pots. It fit perfectly in the spot for the old one. It is very sexy looking too.
This dishwasher is SO quiet and a great value! The bottom rack has so much room - I can put my large pots and oversized dinner plates in the bottom with no problem. I love the clips & nooks on the top rack for keeping cups, etc. secure. The only place it could improve is the drying. As long as you have the rinse aid filled it drys effectively enough so you are just wiping the dishes down a bit. If you don't have rinse aid the dishes won't get dry at all. I would definitely buy this dishwasher again!
