Ok...I am a 39 yr old mother of 5 kids & have had many dishwashers throu-out my life. This dishwasher SUCKS! (I would just like to add that all of these "new" & "hightech" dishwasher suck - it's like they are made to break!) Anyway, we purchased this dishwasher thru Sears 800#, (I had read MANY great reviews on this item, but had not seen it in person). Once we got it, we saw what this really is...So let's start on my "rantings" in order of things that bother me the most: this product is really made by Bosch (which is SUPPOSE to be a terrific company/product), so the dishwasher inside is about 2/3rds the size of a "normal" dishwasher (in depth). The rack configuration is CRAZY, makes no sense, I can't even figure out how to load this thing! The silverware basket has a top that you should be able to slide the silverware in & out, & of course my silverware doesn't fit! It takes 2 HOURS to run a cycle. This does not have a rinse cycle. Family of 7 means I have to run this TWO times a day!
Had a recall on my dishwasher GE because they started fires so had to get another dishwasher. Awesome deal and awesome service!!!!!Thank you Sears
We bought this product only about 4 weeks ago. It is VERY quiet. Had to place ear next to it to make sure it was running. However, there are rust spots left on silverware and any stainless steel. Also, horrible dark discoloration of my aluminum bake ware. We use powder cascade and a rinse agent every time per manual's suggestions, and we have all settings as recommended. We use smart wash most of time. Another dislike is the rack configuration. Yes, it's tall and we can fit large bowls, etc. up top, but the way the racks are, it is difficult placing large cups, plastic containers and other things in this. Poor placement of silverware rack in bottom rear... we have to pull bottom rack out each time we want to put in a piece of silverware.
After researching for a few months we decided on this Kenmore Dishwasher and it is fantastic!!!! It's actually made by Bosch for Kenmore and the quality is there for sure. It does a great job on cleaning, make sure to read your manual for the best loading options and how to make it the most effecient for your needs. I love this machine. It makes my life with kids and a busy family much easier.
We purchased this dishwasher because the salesperson sold us on all its wonderful attributes. Big mistake! We should have done research before purchasing. I was very wary of buying a dishwasher that had the flat control panel buttons, since the last one we purchased had them & they started peeling off. I felt better about this one until the 1st wash. After the 1st wash, the control cycle menu panel above the contol cycle buttons popped out. I knew then, it wouldn't take long before it would fall off & it would be an eyesore in my newly remodeled kitchen. It can be pressed down but will pop back out a few hours later. We thought about gluing it back down but just like duct tape, it's not a permanent solution & plus when you pay that much $ for a product, you should not have to resort to such a thing. Manufacturing defect 4 sure. We are trading it in before the 90 days is up.
The sales associate really talked this unit up.....said he had the same dishwasher and he loved it for many reasons. Since getting it, I've put it to every test I can think of (no longer pre-rinse, stuck-on food, pots and pans, non-dishwasher safe items, etc.) and it has passed with flying colors every time. I LOVE THIS THING!!!!
Overall, I am pleased with this product. The installation was simple. The quality seems good. It is a very quiet dishwasher. The only con would be with the rack alignment...it is quite a bit different from my previous dishwasher. All in all, I would recommend this product.
We bought this dishwasher almost a year ago, and "knock-on-wood" have had no problems. It cleans most dishes unless something is really baked on. The height is great, but the rack configuration requires practice. Storage containers don't fit very well and the location of the silverware bin in the back is a bad idea since we are always tossing in a sppon here and a knife there; you have to pull out the bottom rack to do this. The delay start is great. We use "Normal Wash", "Fast Wash", and "Smart Wash" as needed, and all seem to work for what we put in. One thing to remember with the tall tub design is the tall door that goes with it. While not a negative, we can no longer have the dishwasher open and the cabinet doors open directly in front of the dishwasher. All in all it seems to be a good unit. Time will tell if it matches up to the 20 year old Frigidaire we replaced.
My husband is retired military and also retired from his civilian job so he does the dishes and is VERY happy with the dishwasher, loves that it is sooooooooo quiet.
I purchased this because it was made by Bosch. It is quiet and cleans very well. My plumber installed it and he said it was equiped with the type of fittings that he recommends to his customers. About the only negative, and it is just a personal preference, is that the silverware basket sits on the bottom near the back, so when you just want to just add a spoon it requires pulling the bottom rack all the way out. We have decided to just leave the holder in the sink until the dishwasher is ready to be run and that works well for our family! Otherwise it has lots of space and loads easily! We also needed a flat front to allow a nearby drawer to open and this fit perfect.
