Thudpucker
1390 Dishwasher made by Bosch for Sears
I read the reviews for the 1390 under all color options before purchasing this unit (they are the same unit except for the face panel, but the reviews are tracked separately, everyone should read them all). I will agree with most of the positive comments and some of the negative ones and will only add some info that has not be recorded thus far. This is a Bosch manufactured unit for Sears. As such it uses the Bosch condensing drying method popular in Europe to save energy. We have found we needed to set the optional extended drying setting to reduce the need to hand dry non-plastics via the control panel. You may want to do an internet search to get more information on Bosch condensing drying. We also noticed in the manual that the unit assumes the input temperature of the water is at least 120 degree F and the rinse agent is mandatory for proper operation. The amount of rinse agent dispensed can be adjusted via the control panel and ours came pre-programmed to dispense the maximum amount (6). I guess they assumed the worst case hard water conditions.A rinse agent setting of 4 seems to work well in our area. They only negative is that these 1390 units do not have a Rinse and Hold cycle. I note this because at the time of purchase the Sears web site stated that all color options of the 1390 unit have a quick rinse option. Well it does not but this can be overcome via a manual process of selecting the quick wash option with no detergent loaded and then cancel the cycle after 5 to 10 minutes. When the cycle is canceled the unit will wait a minute for the water to drop to the bottom then run the drain function to empty the unit. Its a good unit but do your homework so your not surprised by its Euro design origins, especially if your use to the traditional heating element units common in the USA.

Quiet, but Leaving Rust spots. Poor rack configuration.
We bought this product only about 4 weeks ago. It is VERY quiet. Had to place ear next to it to make sure it was running. However, there are rust spots left on silverware and any stainless steel. Also, horrible dark discoloration of my aluminum bake ware. We use powder cascade and a rinse agent every time per manual's suggestions, and we have all settings as recommended. We use smart wash most of time. Another dislike is the rack configuration. Yes, it's tall and we can fit large bowls, etc. up top, but the way the racks are, it is difficult placing large cups, plastic containers and other things in this. Poor placement of silverware rack in bottom rear... we have to pull bottom rack out each time we want to put in a piece of silverware.

I purchased this because it was made by Bosch.  It is quiet and cleans very well.  My plumber installed it and he said it was equiped  with the type of fittings that he recommends to his customers.  About the only negative, and it is just a personal preference, is that the silverware basket sits on the bottom near the back, so when you just want to just add a spoon it requires pulling the bottom rack all the way out.  We have decided to just leave the holder in the sink until the dishwasher is ready to be run and that works well for our family!  Otherwise it has lots of space and loads easily!  We also needed a flat front to allow a nearby drawer to open and this fit perfect.
